2014 New Opportunities

As we approach the middle of the first month for 2014, I am reviewing my process to date this year in all areas of my life. Overall I am happy with progress to date, though there are many challenges to come later this year. This year I have placed more of a priority on my personal well being and also letting go of the concept that I can do everything…. As they say Good is the enemy of Best…. Too many times I try to cram too much into my life, as there are so many great opportunities out there.

For me the focus for this year will be my health and well being. Sleep, exercise, nutrition and my personal development, to name a few, will be my priority for 2014. This has already resulted in me feeling more at ease with myself, as well as being more relaxed when around the children. I am sure the children have appreciated this too. It is funny how when you look after yourself, you actually create a better environment for others too. It is just like they say on the airlines “put your own air mask on before helping others.”

Workwise, I have my business, my paid work for a not for profit organisation and my role in the Army reserve. Yes, there is a lot there in each of these roles, so I have reviewed my work schedule for 2014. I look forward to to the additional opportunities for 2014 in our business and look forward to inspiring more people…. (by the way, there are a few slots open in my schedule for speaking engagements, if anyone is interested).

As the month progresses, more and more aspects of my life will start up building up for the year…. This will place pressure on maintaining my focus of self care… But I am up for the challenge.

  • What is your priority and focus for 2014?
  • How are you going to achieve and maintain your priority and focus for 2014?
  • What potential obstacles will provide you a challenge in maintaining you priority and focus for 2014?

  1. Good for you Attila, sounds like you stopped to smell the roses! As my grandmother always said, you cannot put a price on health. If you have your health, you are the wealthiest person in the world.

We share a common goal for 2014 in that we both want to inspire people. I want to inspire as many people as I can to follow their dreams by stepping outside their comfort zone and making determined action to get them closer to living, not taking about their dreams. I strongly believe you can achieve any goal so long as you set realistic expectations and follow through with persistence and determination.

    Wishing you an amazing 2014!

    • Thank you for sharing…. It is great to hear from like minded people. I find that inspiring others is very rewarding. People all have great potential, if they can only see this in themselves….. Myself included. Have a great 2014…..

  2. Dear friend, Thank you very much, I was really happy to have been following your blog. I’m still a lot to figure out, and here I can only say that you are an awesome blogger, full Inspiring and hope you can inspire more readers. Thanks and greetings compassion from Gede Prama 🙂

    • Hi there Gede, Thank you for sharing. Blogger is an awesome adventure. Taking little steps and just posting blogs has helped me to develop myself and my blog…. Thank you for you kind words. Cheers Attila

  3. Thanks for the insight into your thoughts and focus for the year! It made me think about my ambitions too, so I’ll answer your questions at the bottom of the blog.

My main priority this year is to become more confident and grow within my new role at work. I also want to reduce my debt. I won’t be debt-free this year, but I will work toward it.

I’m going to accomplish these three things by setting smaller monthly goals and reflecting at the end of each month on how I did. Setting a plan early helps me keep sight on the end goal.

My biggest obstacle is not believing in myself enough, comparing my situation to others, and not making time for consistent work toward these goals.

    • Hi Becca

Thank you for sharing. Sounds like you have robust goals and a robust plan to get there… Good for you. I think that the struggles of self belief, time and comparing to others is something that we all do… In fact I think they are my biggest three obstacles this year too…. I wish you the best for the year and let me know how you are going…. If you need a lift, send me an email and we can all support each other.
