2012 in Review

It has come to that time of year when we are about to farewell the current year and welcome in another. With the farewell we celebrate the achievements, learn from the mistakes and be grateful for what we have. The new year however is another story, it is an unwritten story. A story that we get to write, it is full of opportunity and excitement.
So what are you grateful for from 2012?
So what lessons did you learn in 2012?
What is the story you are going to write for yourself in 2013?
For our family 2012 has been full of adventure and changes. We moved back to Canberra, three of the children returned to Australia, two of the children started at new schools and we got married….. What a perfect year.
Workwise, Kim’s business is doing well. She is meeting revenue targets, while allowing time for the children. I changed my full time job at the end of the year and after a month in the new role I am looking forward to the challenges ahead in 2013. Business wise I have also supported Kim in addition to delivering some leadership coaching, training and consulting. Within my role in the Army Reserve we have wrapped a year with some quality training and support to a number of domestic and overseas operations from our Squadron.
Scouting wise the family has also been busy…. In addition to my current role on the ACT Branch International team Kim has lodged the paperwork to be a leader. Kim and myself also had an awesome opportunity to travel to Timor Leste with a group of teenagers for an International Scouting Community Service Project.
So what about 2013….. It is a story that we are to write, that said we have plans to build on the successes of 2012 and to learn from the mistakes of 2012…. Stay tuned for more.

In some cultures, they start the new year with eating foods with combination of all flavours- bitter, sweet, sour and savoury. Here’s wishing you a new year with new experiences. Thanks for stopping by my blog and for following me.

It sounds like you’ve had a rich and eventful year! I remember a great quote (but not who said it): “The best way to predict the future is to create it yourself.” I’ll second that!
That is a great quote…. There is power in the quote when we understand that we create our future…
Blessings for the New Year Attila to you and your family. I have enjoyed your posts and following your adventure.
