Relaxing Day with the Children

Most people would admit that family is a very important part of their life. I would also go as far as to say that family time in the developed world is under more pressure than ever. Work & Community priorities, family breakdowns and the invasion of technology into the home have all contributed to a reduction in Family Time. However, would you agree that family time is important to you?

I am also in the same boat as most. I work two jobs, have a business in partnership with my wife and I am involved in Scouting. These all take time away from my family. In this busy schedule I work on ways to involve my family in my activities and also have time to spend time with my family. Today has been one of those days. I have been home with the children…… And what an awesome day it has been.

The morning involved getting the house in order (duties) and shopping (including the weekly shop). Okay does not sound like fun; however it is important family time. Two of the girls made lunch, Pizzas…. Master Chef Style… under a time pressure. The judges (the rest of us) rated the meal very high. The afternoon spent watching the replay of the Olympics Opening Ceremony and one off to a birthday party. I even got to belay Angela at the end of the party so she would get a few more climbs in at the indoor rock wall.

It is always great to spend time with the family. I would like to spend more time with my family and it is always a delicate balance between family and other activities….. It is a busy world we live in…. How do you spend your family time? When is the last time that you had Quality Family Time?

  2. great to hear your family values, Attila! it’s awesome to hear (or read) of men who are really enjoying their kids, even while balancing all their other responsibilities! way to be!:-) and thanks so much for visiting my blog! it hasn’t been up that long, there’s lots i want to work on getting up there, and you may be the first official follower who’s not a family member or friend from church! so you made my day! thank you lots!

  3. Glad you had a relaxing time with your kids. They look adorable!

  4. Enjoy the children everyday. They do leave……eventually. And although it is nice to have the home to yourselves, something is always missing.

We have moved/retired away from the home where we raised our children. They are grown and away. They come to our new home of course. But none of their ‘stuff/junk’ is around. LOL I made them take it all a few years ago.

Families are one of the most precious things of life.

  5. Good morning from America Attila, I feel where you are at. I was able to stay at home and work the first 16 years of my children’s lives but ventured outside of the home when my youngest was 12 and wish I would have waited a couple more years. We made the most of each chance we could as a family and made sure as the kids entered teen years that our home was open to all of their friends. It was a big commitment but well worth it. Now that they are adults they and their friends come over for birthdays and holidays and too show us their babies! Life is good and each moment you invest in your family will just make it richer!

  6. Work and family balance is always a challenge! Glad you made time for your kids. Here is something I did with my kids earlier this month: http://sheslosingit.net/2012/07/05/make-memories/

  7. that’s wonderful Attila! I wish more people realized the bliss of spending time with family..unfortunately, the sudden inflow of money into India has made people completely ignore this aspect of their lives.
